Chandra Talpade Mohanty is a Distinguished Professor of Women's and Gender Studies, Sociology, and the Cultural Foundations of Education & Dean's Professor of the Humanities at Syracuse University
Chandra was born and raised in Mumbai India. She has spent time in Nigeria and London, and currently lives in upstate NY. Described as a transnational feminist, Chandra has published numerous articles and has written Feminism Without Borders: Decolonizing Theory, Practicing Solidarity, and Feminism and War: Confronting U.S. Imperialism. Described as a trailblazing feminist theorist, Chandra Talpade Mohanty addresses some of the most pressing and complex issues facing contemporary feminism today.
