In 1928, a group of community leaders met to discuss their shared ideas of ways to enhance local worship.  After devoting sincere thought and much prayer to their decision, the group decided to form a new church and name it Mt. Zion Progressive Missionary Baptist Church.

Eight-five years later Mt. Zion continues its commission of Kingdom Building.  The torch was passed to Rev. Louis M. Murphy, Sr., fourteen years ago and under his leadership our mission is to impact the world by equipping believers to reach the lost with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

For parents in need of childcare, the Children & Youth Ministry will host "Movie Night" at the church from 5:00 PM - 10:00 PM, for youth in grades 1st through 12th.  To register your child(ren), on the online order form select guest.
