2013 Fresh Fork Market Customer Appreciation Potluck

The most important part of any business are the customers who support it. Without you, we would not be able to promote local foods and get more of your food dollars to local farmers. Thank you for your support this summer from both Fresh Fork Market and our producers. We want to thank you by inviting you to a picnic/potluck on Sunday, Setember 29 from 2 PM to 6 PM. This event is free; however, we will require a small refundable deposit to make sure those who RSVP are committed to coming (since we are preparing food and need to plan accordingly).

About our Activities This is a familiy friendly event and you are welcome to stop-in at any time. Throughout the day, we are going to be offering different challenges as well as games. Here is a short list:

- sack race

- pie eating competition

- apple bobbing

- pumpkin carving

- egg toss

- face painting

- Fresh Fork bingo and more

About the Food We will be roasting a pig for the picnic. The pig will be carved around 3:30 PM. We will provide one vegetarian side dish, and water. Feel free to bring a cooler of your favorite beverages.

Our guests are encouraged to bring a dish to share. This is not required but is suggested. To reward those who bring a dish, you'll get a ticket for our turkey raffle. For those who bring a recipe for their dish, they will get a second ticket. You can also email robert your recipe to robert@freshforkmarket.com. All recipes submitted will be compiled into our customer recipe booklet and posted online.

Appetizers, dips, side dishes, casseroles, desserts, etc, are all fair game!

PLEASE BRING YOUR OWN PLATES AND UTENSILS. In an attempt to be sustainable, we are encouraging all to bring their own plates and utensils. We'll have an area where you can rinse them off. This will save on the garbage for sure.

About the registration We are requiring a $10 deposit for all to RSVP. Please RSVP by Monday Setember 23. Deposits are refundable if you show up at the event. If a storm comes through and ruins our day, we'll obviously take that into consideration on refunding those who don't want to come play in the rain (although we do have a shelter).

All who attend have the option of a refund on the deposit or to donate it to Innovative Farmers of Ohio to help fund their work in developing more sustainable producers and exciting products. I will be making my donation to IFO as well.

At the event we'll aslo be awarding a free Thanksgiving turkey. Each person who attends gets a ticket for our raffle. You can also win tickets by participating in activities and bringing a dish to share. The winner will be drawn at 5:30 PM.

About the location This event is held at a private club in Medina OH. The fall foliage should be beautiful this weekend. Please dress appropriately for the weather.

The address I provided for the club is the Poe Road entrance. On your way in you may pass the back entrance (on River Styx). Please don't use this as we are trying to create one way traffic pattern. When you enter the club, follow the signs back to our pavilion. Please drive slowly and watch for pedestrians, dogs, and wild game.

For those who look this club up, it is a private hunting club and sporting clays club for shotgun sports. You may see and hear shotguns as you enter the club. There is no reason to be concerned. Our party will be distant from the sporting activities.
