About the Presenter


Yuki Matsuno is a mediator, facilitator and lawyer based in Vancouver, BC.  She possesses a B.A. (Honours) and a law degree from the University of British Columbia, as well as a Certificate in Conflict Resolution from the Justice Institute of British Columbia.  In 2004 Yuki started her dispute resolution practice, and has since worked with a wide variety of individuals and organizations in the public, private and non-profit sectors.  She excels at putting people at ease and bringing out the best in people as they work through a dispute.  Yuki is a member of the Law Society of British Columbia and the Canadian Bar Association, BC Branch.  She is also a member of the Civil Roster of Mediate BC.

Maximizing Your Mediation Results: Preparing to be More Effective at the Mediation Table

In this workshop learn tips and communication strategies that will assist clients to be more effective at the mediation table. After taking this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • gain a clear understanding of the mediation process, different mediator approaches, and negotiation concepts that arise in mediation;
  • prepare cases for mediation by focusing on timing of mediation, selection of a mediator, client interests assessment, and risk analysis; and
  • increase the chances of resolution at mediation by educating clients and by employing key communication skills and strategies

Now you can also participate in the workshop from whichever location is most convenient to you, through our online webinar platform.

You will need a computer with speakers, microphone and good internet connection (wired internet for optimum result). For this online format, you will be able to follow the presentation, ask questions and take part in discussions just like if you attend the workshop in person.

Cost: $199 (classroom and webinar)

This workshop is eligible for 3.5 hours of PD credits from the Law Society of British Columbia.

Mediate BC is unable to refund registration fees. Substitutes are always welcome.  Registration will remain pending until full payment is received.  Refunds of any type will be made in the form of a cheque, regardless of the method of initial payment, from Mediate BC Society and sent by post to the mailing address provided on the registration form.  Mediate BC reserves the right to cancel or reschedule events, refuse admission, or change speakers, location, or content.
