Please join us for a celebration of our fall food harvest and garden fair. The event continues to honour the legacy of Ken Proudfoot, provides fun events for families, gardening tips and demonstrations.  There is no fee for visiting MUN Botanical Garden on this day. No registration is required if you are planning to visit the Garden and partake of all of the activities other than the food tasting. Donations will be gratefully accepted.

Local chefs will tempt your taste buds with their culinary creations using ingredients provided by our local farmers. Four food stations offering tasting portions will be located throughout the garden featuring the following.

Chefs include:

  • Chef Roary MacPherson of The Sheraton Hotel with a Loaded Potato Soup; 
  • Chef Brian Piercey of Celtic Hearth/Bridie Molloy's with a Roast Pork Shoulder and Colcannon Potato; 
  • Chef Sharon Snow of The Pantry with a Curried Cauliflower and Potato Korma; and
  • Andrea Maunder of Bacalao with a Russian Chocolate Potato Cake.

Farms/Farmers include:

  • Nagle's Hill Agri-Products (Mt. Scio Farm) - Jeremy Carter;
  • Seed to Spoon Co-operative - Sarah Crocker;
  • Hummock Farms - Bob Brake;
  • Hender's Organic Vegetable Farm - Frank Hender;
  • Homestead Farm Ltd. - Byron and Donna Smith;
  • Ripple Trail - Karen Durfey;;
  • Hugh's Pond Farm - Leo White;
  • Oliver's Farm - Del Oliver; and
  • Murray Meadows Farm - Brian Kowalski and Evan Murray.

Passes for the food tasting are $20 and can be purchased online by registering below or in-person at the Garden. A maximum of 300 passes are available.  Each pass includes 4 tickets, one for each of the food stations as well as the recipes. For those purchasing online, passes can be picked up at the registration desk at the Garden on the day of the event.

A number of vendors will also be on hand at the Garden selling a number of different products including:

  • Evan Murray of Murray Meadow Farms selling local vegetables grown by local farmers;
  • Garden Cafe featuring Power Smoothies, water.  
  • Ziggy Peel Good with their famous french fries, hot dogs, and beverages; and
  • Garden Gift Shop with a diverse selection of garden themed items, books and including rpoducts showcased by our exhibitors: INDIGENA NL Skincare and Trouters' Special Work Farm Compost.
