CrossCurrent Concert - Om Shalom Trio 

ArtSpace Herndon presents the first of its new CrossCurrents Music Events - a Concert & Master Class of World Music. The first in the series is the Om Shalom Trio, award - winning world musicians drawing on their Far Eastern and Middle Eastern roots to create a fusion of Indian classical and Jewish Folk.  Pictured below are Valeriya Sholokhova, born in the Ukraine and a graduate of the Julliard School.  She was a laureate in international cello compettition in Europe; Ranendra Da, a tabla player from Bangladesh with a repertoire that includes Western and Indian Dlassical music, jazz, Hip Hop, and Bluegrass.  His recent performances include The Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial dedication; Abhik Mukherjee is a gold-medalist sitar player from Calcutta, India who has shared to stage with such notables as Aretha Franklin and Stevie Wonder.
