About Our CEU Event Speaker
Pam Albers headshot Pamela Albers, LCSW, BACS, is the director of the Trauma Recovery Program for the New Orleans Family Justice Alliance. Since graduating from Tulane University School of Social Work in 2004 with a master’s degree, she has worked full time as a therapist for those experiencing domestic violence and sexual assault. She also plans and facilitates workshops for social workers, counselors, educators, and medical professionals on topics such as identifying, assessing and referring for domestic violence and sexual assault, dating violence, date rape, the systems approach to alleviating social and economic barriers for women experiencing domestic violence, domestic violence in the workplace and responding to child hood sexual abuse.

Her therapeutic approach is solution focused; and, it is aimed at breaking the barriers that people face in the process of healing. In that process, She uses a creative approach to problem solving; those who work with her often find a paint brush, crayons, hot glue or tube of glitter in their hands. She finds that play and creativity create the space for healing to begin in a way that other venues do not.
