Leading-Edge Seminar on Crowdfunding 

This seminar is co-sponsored by the Department of Marketing and Entrpreneurship and the North Country Small Business Development Center at SUNY Plattsburgh.  the program will cover the basics of Crowdfunding and explain the opportunities that are available to businesses to help them grow and expand.

David Drake

David Drake is the founder of The Soho Loft Capital Creation Event Series (“TSL”) which promotes and facilitates capital formation for the Private Company Marketplace (PCM). Mr. Drake is also the Chairman of LDJ Capital in New York City and a thought leader on the JOBS Act (Jumpstart Our Business Start-Ups Act) including, but not limited to,  Reg A+,  Reg D 506, Crowd Funding Capital and Onramp IPO. He is a founding executive board member of both the Crowdfund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA) and the leading crowdfunding global trade network, the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA). He was chosen to represent the U.S. Department of Commerce as a JOBS Act expert delegate at the July 10 2012 meeting in Brussels and July 12-13 2012 Rome US and European Transatlantic Economic Council (TEC) forum led by Ambassador Miriam Sapiro, Deputy US Trade Representative, with European Ministers and legislators.

Enzo Villani

Enzo Villani is a professor at SUNY Plattsburgh and joins The Soho Loft as its head of Corporate Strategies. Previously, Villani was the Managing Director of Products and Strategy at the NASDAQ OMX. He established NASDAQ Corporate Services through a series of alliances and acquisitions and in 2006 he lead the acquisition of Shareholder.com and Prime Zone Media Network (now GlobeNewswire). Corporate Services has developed into a growth business line at NASDAQ OMX and continues to develop new products and services for public companies.  Since 2006, Villani has completed over $400 million in acquisitions focused on investor relations, corporate communications, financial technology, media, and trading exchange industries. Villani is an executive member of Crowdfund Intermediary Regulatory Advocates (CFIRA) and the Crowdfunding Professional Association (CfPA), which is the leading crowdfunding global trade network.

Christine Landon

Christine Landon is the founder and CEO of WebFinancial, LLC (www.webfinancial.com), a crowdfunding-based financial system startup based in Providence, Rhode Island. Before founding WebFinancial, Landon had a diverse 19-year career in financial services, including positions as a research associate for Cambridge Associates, and positions in actuarial consulting and analysis and product development for small mutual and Fortune 10 insurance firms, including General Electric, Liberty Mutual and NAS Surety. She is a patented inventor and certified in Six Sigma

The cost of the program is $25 for the general public and free for university and college students.
