This Month's Topic:
Sexual Predators: Are offender compliances protecting our kids?
As a survivor of childhood sexual abuse, Maria Holiday began fighting for tougher sentencing guidelines for offenders 15 years ago. She was featured on “60 Minutes” concerning sexual predators and “Stephanie’s Law” in 1998. She founded the political action group, Kansas Women or Accountable and Responsible Government. She has testified before the Kansas Legislature, providing both oral and written statements and been a featured speaker at press releases regarding this issue. She has made appearances on Fox News with Juliet Huddy, Mike Jerrick and Judge Jeanine Pirro.
Holiday and former Johnson County Sheriff, Currie Myers, founded the Missing Sexual Offender Center, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to bringing absconders of the State and National Sex Offender Registry into compliance; providing proactive strategies to reduce future sexually related crimes; and supplying training and education to the public concerning sexual predators and the inaccuracies of sex offender registries.
Maria has been a full-time, certified educator for over 20 years. She is an Executive Director for Apriori Beauty, an organic & performance based skin care. She also owns a private preschool and day care. She is a teacher, mother and a grandmother to four little princesses.
