Artascope Studios in South Portland is an art facility with three separate media studios. Classes are taught in three formats: all-inclusive one night classes, weekly classes taught in series and weekend getaways. Subjects range from jewelry making to stained glass, landscape painting to collage. In addition to classes, we host events and parties and have a studio membership program. Landscape Painting

This class begins with a thorough introduction to the tools and materials that are used in acrylic painting. From there you'll explore the basic elements of color and composition. You'll investigate how to create space and light on a two-dimensional object using landscape as your subject. This class is great for the first time painter as well as the continuing student.

Learn metalsmithing in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. Begin by learning how to handle the necessary tools and equipment. You will then set out on several projects, making pieces like rings and bracelets and perfecting skills in techniques like etching, embossing and soldering. This class is great for beginners or returning students.
