In honor of International Literacy Month, Literacy Kansas City and
The Writers Place are shining a spotlight on literacy by bringing together new adult readers and area authors to share their inspiring stories at
The Power of Reading: A Celebration of the Written Word.
On Thursday, September 23 at 7:00 p.m., the organizations will
co-sponsor the second annual program at The Writers Place. KCPT's

Stan Banks, Pete Dulin, Nancy Pickard and Mary Sanchez will read personal stories and original writings and discuss how reading has changed their lives. Read all of their biographies here.
