WOODSTOCK: 40 YEARS LATER

fornatale woodstock book

FEATURING PETE FORNATALE OF WFUV AND AUTHOR OF

"Back to the Garden
The Story of Woodstock"

 Monday August 16th 6:30pm at

Samsung Experience

Time Warner Center

10 Columbus Circle/10th Floor

New York City

For America's counterculture youth in 1969, Woodstock became a symbol of more than just sex, drugs, and rock 'n' roll—it was about peace, love, and a new way of living. It was a seminal event that epitomized the ways that the culture, the country, and the core values of an entire generation were shifting. On one glorious weekend, this generation found its voice through music. (courtesy of Simon & Schuster)

Introducing his engaging oral history, Fornatale, an author and longtime New York radio personality, admits that his attempt to parse fact from fiction regarding an endlessly mythologized pop culture milestone, the Woodstock Music & Art Fair, isn't always easy. It has been four decades, after all, and most of Fornatale's 110 sources spent that rainy August weekend in a hallucinogenic haze. But Fornatale does bring new stories to light, revisits old stories and dispels some common misperceptions. (courtesy of Publishers Weekly).

Created especially for SobelMedia, Pete will share his insider's insights on the Woodstock festival and the Sixties, with exerpts from "Back To The Garden: The Story of Woodstock & How it Changed a Generation," audio clips of his Woodstock interviews, and unique graphic and video highlights.

And on August 25 our final event of Summer 2010
beatletoons

Featuring Mitch Alexrod, Beatle Historian and author of

"Beatletoons: The Real Story Behind The Cartoon Beatles

"With over a thousand books on the Beatles, one has to be selective in deciding which books to own. Many books repeat the same story over and over again, mistakes and all. The ones worth owning are those that cover a special part of the Beatles legacy and do so with accurate information and style. Beatletoons falls into that category. Mitch Axelrod did thorough research on an area of the Beatles ignored by most authors, those silly but charming Beatles cartoons. Although the book is full of new information, it is a quick and easy read. Details of each cartoon episode are provided. This book will be a great reference tool if and when Apple finally releases the Beatles cartoons on DVD. But don't wait for that to happen. Buy the book now. You won't be disappointed."
