Meet the Candidates hosted by SGA and FACC at Daytona State

The Student Government Association at Daytona State College along with the College’s chapter of the Florida Association of Community Colleges, announces an opportunity to meet the candidates of upcoming local, state and federal elections, Sept. 22, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., on the Daytona Beach Campus.

Following the primaries on Aug. 24, candidates going forward to the elections on Nov. 2, will be invited to bring campaign materials to the Lenholt Student Center (bldg. 130) providing an arena for candidates and/or representatives to discuss the issues with constituents.

In addition, a forum event will be held in the Theater Center (bldg. 220) from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. where candidates will be given the opportunity to present aspects of their campaign.

The Student Government Association serves as the liaison between students, faculty, and the administration and is directly involved in the policy making process for Daytona State College. SGA members volunteer for numerous community service projects within the Volusia and Flagler areas.

The purpose of the Florida Assocation of Community Colleges is to help the Florida Legislature understand the community college role in higher education and to advocate for strong and viable community colleges in Florida. Today, all 28 of the state's community colleges support the work of the Association through institutional dues as do more than 9,000 individual community college employees and retirees through individual memberships and the sharing of their talents, time and energy. Daytona State College currently boasts more than 340 members in the Daytona State FACC Chapter.
