We invite men and women interested in connecting with other professionals of color in Southeastern Michigan to this FREE event sponsored by the UM Diversity Council and the Women of Color in the Academy Project (WOCAP).  

Geri Allen is an internationally known composer and pianist.  She was the first recipient of the Soul Train, Lady Of Soul Award for Jazz.  She was also the youngest person—and the frist woman—to receive the Danish Jazzpar Prize. Professor Allen is a 2008-2009 Guggenheim Fellow for Musical Composition.

Robert Hurst
is a highly respected and well-recognized composer, bassist, educator, recording artist, and businessman. Over the years, Robert Hurst has won four Emmy Awards, five Grammy Awards, performed on several RIAA- Gold recordings, and has received Top Ten and Five Star recognition around the Globe.

Robin Wilson
is best known as a founding member of the Urban Bush Women. She performed in New York for over a decade with such choreographers as Dianne McIntyre, Kevin Wynn, Jawole Willa Jo Zollar, and Dorothy Vislocky. 
In 1999, Ms. Wilson was winner of the Maggie Allesee Award for New Choreography.

All three are Associate Professors at the University of Michigan School of Music, Theatre and Dance.
