The All-City People’s Parade is a unique collaboration already including over 40 community organizations, agencies and schools. It brings together hundreds of people of all ages, cultures and abilities to create and celebrate art and expression around a theme developed through community brainstorm sessions. We anticipate reaching over 8,000 people from all parts of Milwaukee through free-to-the-public workshops, mini-parades like National Night Out and Summer of Peace, and the culmination of our efforts—the All-City People’s Parade on Labor Day, Monday, September 6th with Laborfest.
Artists, youth, and community groups will transform your donation into wonderfully imaginative masks, puppets and parade floats that tell Milwaukee’s story. Click here for other information on the Parade, including photos and videos from 2009.
The 2010 projects are partially funded by Wisconsin Arts Board and National Endowment for the Arts, Milwaukee Arts Board, Milwaukee County CAMPAC, United Performing Arts Fund, Greater Milwaukee Foundation Abert Fund and Mary Nohl Fund, Helen Bader Foundation, Norma and Meyer Ragir Foundation, Max Fund, Gardner Foundation, Greater Milwaukee Realtors Youth Foundation, Merrill Lynch, International Molded Fibre Association, Ogden & Co./Clybourn Partners, MPS Partnership for the Arts, Action Recyclers, and many individuals.
