WWPR Presents: A Communicator’s Guide to Robust Resumes, Hiring Hints and Interview Insights

Panelists:

  • Kate Perrin is the CEO of PRofessional Solutions, LLC, the Washington area's only public relations temporary agency.  She started the firm in 1994 after 20 years in public relations and marketing communications.  In 2009 she received the Matrix Award from the Association for Women in Communications, along with Michelle Singletary of the Washington Post.  Kate is active in many professional communications societies, and also serves on the Board of the Washington chapter of Dress For Success.
  • Ken O’Quinn is a professional writing coach and the author of Perfect Phrases for Business Letters (McGraw-Hill). He started Writing With Clarity 14 years ago, following a journalism career with the Associated Press. He now conducts on-site workshops and one-on-one coaching for Fortune 500 companies and global PR firms. Ken has been a guest speaker at the IABC, PRSA, and NIRI international conferences, and his writing has appeared in the Harvard Management Communication Letter and the Journal of Employee Communication Management.
  • Eron Shosteck is the founder and CEO of ResumeRevision.com, a full-service resume rewriting, executive coaching, and strategic career counseling firm. He works under the philosophy that the resume is your personal sales and marketing brochure, and strives to make each client's new CV leap off the page and grab the reader by the lapels. Shosteck's expertise is a product of more than 20 years in the PR biz, which includes working at six associations, a PR agency, on Capitol Hill, as a journalist, and the author of the critically acclaimed novel "Potomac Beach." He currently serves as Senior Vice President for Communications, Marketing & Media Relations at the American Bus Association.

Moderator:

  • Pat Wheeler is the director of marketing for Cultural Tourism DC where she is responsible for written, verbal, visual and electronic communciations with the organizations' external audiences. Wheeler has taught courses in marketing and public relations at Howard University, American University, Trinity College, the University of Maryland and the University of Virginia, Northern Virginia Center. In 1993, she was named PR Woman of the Year by WWPR
