CEIE: DP Walk & Talk – Restorative Environments with Naomi Sachs

Learn about the healing aspects of nature from the director of the Therapeutic Landscapes Network.

Naomi Sachs, Founder and Director of the Therapeutic Landscapes Network and Principal of Naomi Sachs Design, is passionate about nature as a restorative environment. Therapeutic Landscapes Network is an international, multidisciplinary community of designers, health and human service providers, scholars, gardeners, and nature enthusiasts who believe that access to nature is an innate need and a basic human right, and that contact with nature, both wild and designed, enables people to live fuller, richer, healthier lives. The primary emphasis is on therapeutic landscapes in the healthcare setting, encouraging the practice and use of evidence-based design (EBD) which is the "process of basing decisions about the built environment on credible research to achieve the best possible outcomes." (The Center for Health Design).
