Tours of the Little Miami State Park 2010

Welcome to the Friends of the Little Miami State Park Bike Tours information.

Tour Descriptions:

Join the Friends of the Little Miami State Park to raise money for repairing and increasing the safety on the Little Miami State Park Trail. We are hosting one-way bike tours of the Little Miami State Park Trail on Saturday, May 29 between 8AM and 4PM. We have several bike tour options, and at least one tour will suit you and your family perfectly. Meet at Corwin along the Little Miami State Park Trail. From there, we will shuttle you and your bike to the starting location where your guide will meet you. All tours end at Corwin. Bicycle helmets are required for these tours.

Oregonia to Corwin Bike Tour:

This tour is a 6-mile tour. It is perfect for families with little ones who want to go on an easy and short bike ride. We will talk about the history of the Little Miami River, watch for birds, look for wild flowers along the trail, and stop at Caesar Creek to search for water critters. Be ready for a relaxing ride on the trail with the sound of the river near by. This tour is offered at 2:30PM. Registration is required.

Fort Ancient to Corwin Bike Tour:

This tour is a 9-mile tour. It is perfect for families with older children or couples who desire a longer bike ride enmeshed with natural and cultural history. We will talk about Fort Ancient and the people who once inhabited that area, how people in history used the Little Miami River, search for birds and wildflowers along the trail, and stop at Caesar Creek for a stream stroll. Be prepared for nature and history to come alive. These tours will be offered at 10:30AM and 1PM. Sign up for the time that best suits you. Registration is required.

Terrace Park to Corwin Bike Tour:

This tour is for the avid cyclist who desires a longer ride along the Little Miami State Park Trail. This tour is approximately 37.6 miles long. Be sure to bring enough food and water to sustain you for this 3 to 4 hour ride. There will be stops for food and drink along the way as well. Your tour guide will share with you the exciting natural and cultural history that surrounds the trail and the Little Miami River. This tour will meet at Corwin at 8AM. Registration is required.

Registration is required for each of the tours. Donations for this event benefit the FLMSP's efforts in maintaining and improving safety along the trail. Space is limited, please register today.
