March 3 Atlanta Regional Housing Forum
Distress Properties in Metro Atlanta: Suffering the Consequences and Formulating Responses
9:00 a.m. - Registration
9:30 a.m. - Welcome
Bill Bolling, Atlanta Community Food Bank
9:45 a.m. - Distressed Properties and Challenges for Communities
New housing construction has slowed tremendously and may not pick up until job growth returns and foreclosures are substantially reduced. Without state, regional and local strategies to reduce foreclosures and actions to reoccupy distressed properties, the current conditions that have decimated the region's housing sector (and the entire economy) may continue longer than necessary.
Banks, real estate professionals, government officials and non-profit nonprofit organizations are taking steps to address the current state of the region's housing. A panel of individuals will review the programs that are underway to reduce foreclosures and put distressed properties back into the market.
Panelist To Include:
David Ellis, Greater Atlanta Home Builders
Darrin Hall, Sustainable Neighborhood Development Strategies
John Hunt, Viasearch
Vaughn Irons, APD Solutions
