The Art of Balancing Life with Technology

Wasn't technology supposed to improve the quality of our lives and reduce stress at the same time? With all the advances in computing technologies that facilitate automation and help us get things done faster, shouldn't we be spending only half our time working now and more time with our families and towards our interests/hobbies? While there have been great benefits to all these technological innovations, stress levels have only gone up historically.  WHAT HAPPENED???

 If we continue at this rate on the same course, what does our future look like? What are we leaving behind for generations to come? More of the same. A downward spiral that promises us more stress, disease and broken relationships that is only getting faster. What can we do about this? How do we start creating more fulfilled lives where health, wealth and fulfilling relationships are in abundance. And how can we use technology to our advantage to help us achieve this?

Personal branding, by definition, is the process by which we market ourselves to others.  As a brand, we can leverage the same strategies that make corporate brands appeal to others and we can have just as much presence in the marketplace.  Social media tools have leveled the playing field and enable us to reach world wide, at the cost of our time.

Our speaker, Julie Brown, will show us how you can highlight your Brand and allow people to easily view what you’re about.  She will talk about your online presence but also your professional visibility at work.  She offers tips for putting together your personal branding “tool kit”, keys to your career advancement, and 7 ways that personal branding can keep you from getting fired!
