A Benefit for Tsunami on the Square Performing Arts and Culture Festival

Tsunami on the Square Performing Arts and Culture Festival has given our community a free, all-ages, family-friendly wave of truly amazing, world class performing arts every June for the last 11 years.

Now, our challenged economy has choked off the flow of money we had come to depend on: the Arizona Commission on the Arts grants are a mere trickle of last year's and the City of Prescott's Arts Grant promises to be more (or less) of the same.

If ever there was a time for "Every Good Man to Come to the Aid of His Party," it is now. And hence . . .  you know, the party.

We want to celebrate Tsunami on the Square this Saturday night with a great evening of music, desserts, drinks and the love of life!

If every Friend of Tsunami comes and brings a date - well, "What a Wonderful World
It Would Be." And what a wonderful night out for our friends and their lucky dates!

Admission is $12 - a dollar for every year of Tsunami - symbolism, that's what that is!

And what do you get for your $12? Well, besides a great day on the Square this June and more kids on stilts than any other town our size in Arizona, you get admission, a night of great jazz by The Jackson-Jones Jazz Trio, special guests including THIS JUST IN - fresh from a command performance for the Queen's New Year's celebration in London, The Prescott High School Jazz Band! - performance artists, surprises galore, your drink and first two sample slices of dessert.

Which brings us to the desserts: Lots of them. Donated desserts from local restaurants and hotels. Family recipes baked up by talented amateur cooks. Outstanding eats!

You get those first two samples and you can pick and choose more samples for purely nominal donations. And if you find yourself falling in love with a particular pie, etc. You can either buy its twin outright and take it home or wait until the raffle later in the evening and try to get a serious amount of desserts for the price of a winning raffle ticket.

For people who have always wanted to know if a certain dessert at a certain restaurant is the bee's knees, this is, of course, a God Send! And for those who never met a piece of pie they didn't like, like-wise.

What do these restaurants and volunteer chefs get out of it besides a great day in the park in June? Bragging rights! For every slice of dessert you buy, your ticket goes into the bowl in front of that dessert, we tally them at the end of the night and name The Top of the 'Tis Hi-Rise Jazz and Pie People's Choice Awards (Restaurant/Community categories). Sweet, all around!

And did I mention the coffee? A truly great, freshly-roasted batch of coffee, courtesy of our friend, Rich, at Prescott Coffee Roasters.

And did I mention BYOB? Yes, we can only provide you with coffee, tea, water, etc. But if you like your jazz music and desserts with a little more kick, hey, bring it from home and th
e cup's on us!

Folks enter by way of the 'Tis Gallery front door and yes, the restoration work on the loft above is pretty impressive.

And the view of the Courthouse Square at night, with jazz in the background . . . I'm not saying its guaranteed to make sure your date has fireworks at the end, but there's plenty of evidence that it might!

For more information, folks can simply visit www.tsunamionthesquare.com or email Andrew.Tsunami@gmail.com

So, just click on the link below to let us know if you're coming and, while you're at it, if you pre-pay your admission we'll throw in a seat at one of the nicest tables in the event.

That admission fee again is a mere $12 - one greenback for every year of Tsunami.

Registration and the swanky offer of VIP seating for pre-paying is offered up until noon of this Saturday, after that, you can pay at the door and we're glad to have you.  See you there!
