We invite you to join us to help our friends in the Haitian community apply for Temporary Protected Status (TPS) by volunteering for our Haitian TPS Application Assistance Events to be held in Brooklyn, New York.

These events, which will be held on January 30th and February 6 are sponsored by CUNY Citizenship Now! (formerly CUNY Citizenship and Immigration Project), the CUNY School of Professional Studies, the New York City Mayor's Office of Immigrant Affairs, the Legal Aid Society, Medgar Evers College, and the Office of Temporary Disability Assistance.  TPS grants individuals in the United States the right to remain here legally and gives them permission to work for up to 18 months.  TPS is granted by the Department of Homeland Security to individuals who cannot safely return to their countries of origin due to grave disturbances, such as natural disasters.

Please register for the January 30th event by clicking the register now button below.  For information on the February 6 event click here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Nadine Huggins at nadine.huggins@mail.cuny.edu.

Please note: Breakfast will be served to volunteers at 10 a.m. Make sure to arrive promptly, so that you don't miss it!
