

Social media has exploded as a PR and marketing tactic. Three years ago not even half the people online were active in social media. Now it's way over 80 percent. Surveys show that almost all of those Internet users expect a company to have a social media presence.
In 2008 many companies were feeling their way in this new landscape and just 'dipping their toes in the water.'
In 2009 we moved to the checklist approach: Got a Facebook page, got a Twitter feed, got a YouTube channel. (Not sure what to do with it)
2010 is the year to fully integrate social media into your PR. You need to do it strategically, engage with your community, participate in the conversations and measure the results..
