This special event will take place on December 8 at THE LAW OFFICES OF SUSAN F. FILAN, MA, JD at Colonial Green in Westport.

 The program is the result of collaboration by Westport licensed marriage and family therapists Nancy Wergeles LMFT and Elizabeth Crossfield LMFT; attorney and MSNBC-TV Senior Legal Analyst Susan F. Filan, MA, JD; and Westport writer Jessica Bram, author of Happily Ever After Divorce: Notes of a Joyful Journey (Health Communications, Inc. 2009). Also on hand will be Lili A. Vasileff, CFP, CDFA and President of the Association of Divorce Financial Planners and a leading national financial expert on divorce related financial issues. 

 
The evening will include:
 
  • Jessica Bram will share the uplifting message of her book Happily Ever After Divorce: Notes of a Joyful Journey. The book offers a seldom touched view of divorce: a positive view of life on the other side.
  • Susan F. Filan MA, JD, who practices family and divorce mediation along with family and criminal law, will speak about some of the legal issues surrounding divorce and divorce mediation.
  • Elizabeth Crossfield, LMFT and Nancy Wergeles, LMFT will conduct a facilitated discussion in order to demonstrate how support groups can be a vital resource for someone experiencing or recently divorced.
  • Lili A. Vasileff, CFP, CDFA who was recently featured in the NY Times business section and has been invited to serve as expert for NY Times blog, will briefly talk about some year-end financial issues important to consider when facing divorce.

Registration is limited to 30 and pre-registration is required. The fee to attend is $40.
