Vin du Lac's Barrel Select Cabernet Franc is the only wine to have won Northwest WinePress magazine's coveted Platinum award for four consecutive years. And the new 2007 vintage, which we are releasing December 1, is clearly also headed for greatness. Despite not having been released yet, it has already won a Gold Medal at the Seattle Wine Awards, and was awarded Gold Medal and "Best of Class" designation for the second year in a row at the prestigious L.A. Wine and Spirits Competition.
With multiple years of continuous accolades for this wine, it is in high demand both from our loyal customers and from numerous restaurants and bottle shops who want to make sure they have one of the top Cab Francs in the state on their lists and shelves. Since the Franc sells out quickly every year, we are moving to an allocation reserve system for the wine. The allocation system ensures you receive a certain amount of the Cabernet Franc - not just this year, but for future years as well. For example, if you reserve and purchase an allocation of 1 case this year, we will reserve an allocation of one case for you for future vintages as well.
If you are an active member of our wine club, then you already have a yearly allocation of two bottles of the Cabernet Franc. But if you want to make sure you have an additional allocation of this special wine, now is your chance. Between now and December 1, we are accepting reservations for an additional allocation of the Cabernet Franc. Customers can reserve an allocation of up to one case of the wine; however, the initial allocation may be limited if demand exceeds supply. Anyone can reserve an allocation of the Cabernet Franc, but up until December 1, wine club members will have first priority for all wine allocations.
Special Treat for Les Amis Wine Club members who live on the west side! We are inviting you to attend a special Vin du Lac party hosted by the Little Red Studio located in the South Lake Union area of Seattle. The party will be on January 10th and will include music, appetizers and of course wine! We will be tasting the Cabernet Franc along with a selection of other Vin du Lac wines. And best of all, we will bring you your wine! All December quarterly wine club shipments as well as any previously ordered Cabernet Franc allocations will be delivered to Wine Club members who attend the party. (FYI, the white selection for the December wine club shipment is the 2008 LEHM Sauvignon Blanc.)
