Feeding Innovation to Feed the World: Benefits of Public-Private Partnerships
What will our food system look like in 2050? Dr. Rockey will discuss the boundless opportunities for scientific innovation and advancement that can be unlocked when the public and private sector come together to work toward a common goal. The presentation will include an overview of current Foundation for Food and Agriculture Research programming and examples of companies and public sector partners collaborating in the pre-competitive space.

The Need for Agricultural Innovation to Sustainably Feed the World by 2050: Technologies on the Shelf
CAST will introduce its forthcoming 12-paper series, The Need for Agricultural Innovation to Sustainably Feed the World by 2050. Dr. Dhingra is lead author of the series keynote paper, Technologies on the Shelf, and will present a preview of this forthcoming CAST paper, which will examine known agricultural and food technologies, such as golden rice or irradiation, that are underutilized or not used at all due to regulatory and trade barriers, perceived dangers, or consumer preferences.
