Shealy Athletics Pole Vault Camp, with Sandi Morris

Join us on Friday, November 24th with Special Guest Coach, Sandi Morris. Sandi holds the USA Outdoor Pole Vault Record at 16' 4.75" (5.0m).  She was also the 2016 Olympic and 2017 World Championships Silver Medalist. I am very proud of Sandi! She is from Greenville HS (2010) and is a super role model for everyone following her through our program.  This camp will fill up fast!

We will also have world renowned pole vault coach David F. Johnston of Lees McRae College, Banner Elk, NC.  "Coach DJ" is considered the best on the planet at setting up the pole vault approach run. Coaches from beginning to world class, as well as pole vaulters of all levels from all over the globe consult with him and use his six step chart to maximize speed on the runway.

Welcome to our camp page!  The Columbia camps are held at Shealy Athletics, the home of Rusty Shealy Pole Vault.  The one day camp fee is $100 for athletes, free to coaches/parents with athletes, and $50 for coaches/parents without athletes.  Our camps are designed for both new and experienced vaulters.  All ages 13 and above are welcome.  Groups will be taught based on ability level.  Vaulters will be taken through a series of highly successful learning progressions, as taught by the best coaches worldwide.  We believe in learning by doing.

Please share this Shealy Athletics Pole Vault Camp information with your friends and coaches to make it the best camp possible.  If you have any questions, feel free to contact us at the email address or phone number shown on the left.  We look forward to seeing you!

About Us...

Rusty Shealy, Columbia, SC:  As Director of Shealy Athletics/Rusty Shealy Pole Vault, Coach Shealy is referred to as "The Unfair Advantage".  Since 1998, he has coached 96 South Carolina High School State Champions, 11 National Champions and had 3 on "Team USA" the World Team.  He may be the only coach in the country to ever have four of his athletes acheive the rarity of jumping their age, since only a few people in the world do it each year.  One jumped 14' at 14 years of age, four have jumped 15' at 15 years old, two jumped 16' at 16 years old, and one 17' 1" at 17 years of age.  As an NCAA coach at the University of South Carolina, Rusty coached seven Southeastern Conference scorers in two seasons, with one NCAA All-American.
