Building a Resilient and Adaptive Development Program 

Methods to ensure your fundraising strategies are responsive to changing demographics and current events 

This interactive, fast paced program will explore fund development tools for multi-generational, multi-cultural and demographically diverse audiences.The presenter will discuss which acquisition, retention and upgrade strategies are working for which population and investigate how mind sets could shape your asks and marketing materials..This conference has been approved for 6.5 CFRE continuing education credits. 

Presenter: Regina Funkhouser 

Regina has been the Executive Director of the Nonprofit Network since June 2009. With twenty-five years working in the nonprofit sector, she has a full range of experience in fundraising, marketing, governance, management and grant writing. She has led Nonprofit Network from being a county-specific nonprofit management support organization to an international resource specializing in capacity building, professional development and governance & organizational management. Previously, she was owner and principal consultant for Funkhouser Consulting, which specialized in providing support, guidance and consulting services to nonprofit organizations. Prior to owning her own company, Regina was the Development Director for the Kitsap Humane Society in Silverdale, Washington, the Community Development Director for the Child & Parent Resources in Tacoma, Washington and the Special Events Coordinator for the Multiple Sclerosis Society in Toledo, Ohio. Regina is a graduate of Bowling Green State University, Bowling Green Ohio.

The Interpersonal Side of Major Gifts 

This session will explore the management of inter-personal relationshipsnecessary for a successful career in major gifts. Participants will explore thestandards by which success is determined and measured - - on a personal andprofessional level. Further, the program will address organizational readinessfor major gifts including the ways nonprofit managers can and should empowermajor gift officers. The program will attempt to reduce job turnover by exploringthese concepts, and strengthening the industry's ability to manage bothorganizational and self-expectations.

Presenter: Patty Warner

Patty serves as a senior major gifts officer at the Beaumont Foundation,responsible for documenting $2M+ in new gift commitments annually. She cameto Beaumont in September of 2012 from Sparrow Hospital where she served asthe Director of Major and Planned Gifts. Patty is enjoying her 31st year in thedevelopment field with significant experience in major gifts, endowments, capitalcampaigns, and research funding. Patty has a bachelor’s degree from MichiganState University and a master’s in public administration from the University ofMichigan-Dearborn.
