Eligibility

Registration will be open to any motorized power raceboat or individual engine entry that was constructed for the purpose of competition in an organized race and which meets the classifications of the APBA Vintage and Historic Division.

Conditions and Rules

  1. The entrant of any boat must agree to withdraw the boat from in-water operation if the Race Director or Referee makes such a recommendation based on any of the following:
  •  unsafe condition of the boat/engine
  • apparent substance abuse by the driver or crew
  • unsafe boat handling practices by the driver
  • persistent refusal of the driver to follow the directions of the APBA Referee
  • the boat and driver equipment does not pass the APBA safety inspection

All APBA 2014 Vintage and Historic Rules and By Laws are in effect.

2. Each entrant must agree to hold harmless the Antique Boat Museum, Event Sponsors, and the American Power Boat Association. This is an APBA Sanctioned Special Event: exhibitors must    be APBA or CBF members. A single event membership will be available on the site. Include your number for verification. APBA By-Laws also require all entrants be members of an APBA or CBF recognized racing club. Antique Boat Museum members qualify.

3. While registration is open on a "first come, first served" basis, the Registration Committee will attempt to achieve a balance of age and classifications of race boats for in-water fly-by demonstrations. There may be limitations in the crane area. The Registration Committee will attempt to provide space for all boats and memorbilia exhibits.

4. Any signage indicating that a boat is "For Sale" will not be permitted. A bulletin board will be provided for this purpose. If you are interested in exhibit space for sale items please contact the Antique Boat Museum.

5. Items of raceboat memorabilia to accompany the entry or to be used as an independent display are encouraged by the Raceboat Regatta Committee.

6. All water operational boats must provide sufficient pit crew to assist in launching, recovery, and docking. Identifiable pit crew uniforms are encouraged.
