Many small business owners do not have an accounting or bookkeeping background. In fact, just the thought of keeping books, understanding journal entries, learning about taxes, etc. is very daunting.
If you fall into this category, this workshop is for you!
We will start with payroll management. What are the laws? How do you compute payroll tax? What is a 941? How do you report federal unemployment taxes? What is FICA? How do you compute net pay?
After lunch we will launch into the basics of accounting including a definition, the key financial statements, the accounting equation, chart of accounts, general ledger, how to analyze and classify transactions and trial balances. We will then learn how to analyze the financial statement which will tell you a story about your business. We will finish this section with discussion about ratio analysis.
This workshop is targeted to the business owner with some knowledge of accounting.
