Building Community through Refugee Sponsorship

This workshop is part of the afternoon program of "Re-Membering and Re-Making Community", the Diocese of Toronto's Outreach & Advocacy Conference 2021.

While the COVID-19 pandemice has given many of us a glimpse of how events beyond our control can drastically change our lives, right now, 26 million refugees face fear and uncertainty every day. Many will never be able to return home.  For them, the only durable solution is resettlement through refugee sponsorship. Successful refugee sponsorship is a collective effort that builds relationships and develops understanding, ultimately strengthening our communities.  T

Alex Hauschildt is currently Operations Director for the Anglican-United Refugee Alliance (AURA), our Diocesan ministry partner in refugee sponsorship.  Alex has a background in Education and Social Service work and has worked for AURA for the past decade in various roles.
