                   Engaging the Workforce

                            with Merrick Rosenberg

President and Chief Learning Officer, Team Builders Plus

Spending time and energy trying to “motivate” people is a waste of time.

The real question is not, “How do we motivate our people?”

If you have the right people they will be self-motivated.

The key is to not demotivate them.

- Jim Collins

People often talk about “engagement,” yet most people don’t really know what it is, how to create it, and how to keep it. In this “engaging” session, individuals will discover that engagement is the optimal alignment between performance and job satisfaction.  It’s that sweet spot where people are both productive and happy.

Why is engagement important? Consider what Gallup has discovered in their research:

  • 26% of the working US population is engaged.
  • 55% are not engaged (just putting in time).
  • 19% are actively disengaged.
  • The least engaged people miss twice as many days/year.
  • Highly engaged people are nine times more likely to stay.

This session will help people to discover why engagement is important today and why, with the arrival of the millennial generation, it’s going to be even more important in then future. Through a series of interactive discussions and activities, participants will learn how to make the case for “Engagement” in their own organization. In addition, they will gain practical tips and strategies for engaging their own team members.
