Holiday "Greening"

Come help the Coastal Federation decorate the Fred and Alice Stanback Coastal Education Center for the holidays!

This holiday season, we want to continue our successful year of "recycling" the historic Palmgren- O'Quinn house as our new office and coastal education center, and we once again invite the community to help!

Your first chance to help will be on Monday December 1 from 3-5 p.m. in the afternoon. We will be decorating the center, and we would love your help. We will have some holiday decorations on hand, but we would appreciate any donations of live greens to decorate the fireplace mantel and create live garland for the bannisters. Volunteers are encouraged to bring live greens, landscape clippers, nautical buoys, shells or other coastal items that you are willing to donate for the seasonal decorations.  Please join us if you can.

Secondly, we encourage community members to stop by anytime during the holiday season to donate a new or used decorative buoy, and add it to our coastal holiday garland around the upstairs decking.  Add your name or message to your buoy, and invite your friends and family to join in the fun.  While you are here, take a tour of this classic Wrightsville Beach cottage, and learn about the many wonderful programs that the federation will be offering in 2015!

So stop by and add your own piece of coastal history at the Coastal Federation' s Education Center in the Historic Square at 309 West Salisbury Street in Wrightsville Beach, and help celebrate the region's rich coastal heritage!
