Parking is free in the Sister Cities Parking Garage on weekends.  The workshop will take place in the City of Rochester conference room located street level on Fitzhugh St. outside the parking garage.
 
Driving Directions 

Cancellations made prior to noon on Thursday, Octoer 4th will receive a full refund.  Sorry, no refunds for no-shows.

Location:  City of Rochester Conference Room, 56 N. Fitzhugh Street, Rochester (Street level outside Sister Cities Parking Garage)

Workshop Fee:  $125 for all 5 sessions


In these five sessions participants will focus on being human, helpful & consistent across all of their social platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and their blogs.


During each session participants will create a content calendar; optimize their profile; be active on the platform (bringing laptops is encouraged); have an opportunity to ask for help in a specific area of that platform from the class; learn & implement best practices for each social media site.  Each session is focused on ONE social media platform.

It is highly recommended that participants in any of the 5 sessions consider the first session as "mandatory”, so you will have the opportunity to understand the value of having an overall social media strategy.


Week 1, October 6, 2018 - Strategic Social Media
- Complete social strategy: start with Why, Who are you talking to,
  What are you saying
- Identifying which platform is best for your business
- Creating content - what to post, where & when
- Social media management tools & social media ROI
- Repurposing content you already have
- Discover how to cultivate & grow online relationships to get offline results with influencers in your industry.  Tamera did it - and she'll show you how, so you can do it too!

Week 2, October 13, 2018 - Blogging: Growing Your Business Through Blogging
- The elements of a good blog and how to find your writing "voice"
- How to develop a mission statement and content ideas for your blog
- How to use social media platforms, e-newsletters and search engine optimization to drive traffic to your blog
- How to make money by blogging

Week 3, October 20, 2018 - Twitter
- Create a complete content calendar
- Twitter best practices
- Scheduling postings on Twitter
- Learn WHY you should not ignore Twitter in your social media strategy
- Twitter analytics: discover who is really following you and if you are attracting the right people
- Twitter for building relationships
- May be a surprise guest expert on Twitter and Book giveaway!

Week 4, October 27, 2018 - LinkedIn
- Content calendar
- LinkedIn groups are coming back - how you can leverage them
- Conversation to conversation: stop just checking the boxes of "what to do" on LinkedIn
- Publishing on LinkedIn
- LinkedIn best practices & LinkedIn updates
- Possible surprise guest LinkedIn expert will answer your questions

Week 5, November 3, 2018 - Facebook & Instagram
- Create full content & editorial calender for month
 
- Facebook best practices
- Scheduling posting on Facebook or through social management tools
- 80/20 rule of content for businesses
- How Facebook algorithm works
- How you can make Facebook work for your business & community
- Create your Facebook page or group
- Create some content for you to post while you are in class or after.  This could include video, maybe even a Facebook Live for YOUR business page right from class.

About the speaker:  Tamera MacDuff is owner of NOW Digital Marketing and a Certified SCORE Mentor.  She helps businesses drive sales with social media and content strategies.  She specializes in marketing specialized niches such as the Funeral industry and Music industry.  Tamera has been with SCORE for 7 years, and has owned her own business since 2009. She has international relationships she has personally grown and nurtured from online to offline with some of the top influencers in the country.  When she calls or emails, they answer!  She will share how she did it so you can too!
