VLS EVENING CLINIC

Helping Central Texans with Basic Legal Needs

Legal Aid and Volunteer Legal Services hold evening clinics where low-income Central Texans with a wide variety of legal problems receive free legal advice.  These legal problems include general civil law and family law. ACC sponsors the VLS Clinic on the third Wednesday of every month.  The Clinics begin at 6:00 p.m. and generally end between 8:00 and 8:30.

Volunteer lawyers provide basic legal advice and intake services so that a Legal Aid lawyer or other volunteer lawyer can be assigned to take the case on a pro bono basis--no specialized legal knowledge is required. 

 We encourage you to attend one of these Clinics. 

Things to remember

• You do not need to be Texas licensed to volunteer (You will be paired with an attorney who is Texas licensed.)
• Malpractice insurance provided by VLS
• No expertise is required
• Training is provided before and during the clinic
• You can shadow an experienced attorney for as long as you need
