Supervising Youth Development Practice:

A nationally recognized 15 hour curriculum, recognized by the National Training Institute for Community youth work, Washington DC. SYDP is presented by facilitator's certified by the Academy of Educational Development. CAP is a BEST training provider Building Exemplary Systems for Training Youth Workers;  

 SYDP – CURRICULUM GOALS:

The primary goal of SYDP is to train supervisors and managers of youth programs in the principles and practices of youth development, as well as the “BEST PRACTICES” in the supervision of youth development work.

 

By taking this training course, supervisors and managers will:

  •  Gain an understanding of the key concepts in the Advancing Youth Development (AYD) Curriculum.
  •  Learn strategies for supervising youth development practice.
  •  Learn strategies for integrating a facilitative approach into their supervision of youth workers.
  •  Learn how to use youth development approach to strengthen their program and organizations.

SYDP Program Fee:

 Due to a transition in funding; SYDP participants’ portion of the training cost is currently $200. This fee includes full participation in the 15 hour program, curriculum packet, class materials, certificate and Graduation Ceremony. Two or more registrants from the same agency registering at the same time will be billed at $175 each. Class sizes are limited.

Make checks payable to Chicago Area Project and immediately place into the mail. Please note in check memo section “TRAINING UNIT”. Registration will not be processed without payment in full; payment is transferable, but not refundable. Notice to transfer must be given no less than 5 business days before your scheduled SYDP session starts; you will then be assigned to the next available SYDP session.

Check must be received in CAP office by 5:00pm November 27, 2013.
