Description: To maintain competitive advantage every business must protect its intellectual property. This workshop will introduce how to protect intellectual property and especially how to patent inventions. Emphasis will be on how startups and small businesses can utilize the available legal tools to protect and leverage their intellectual assets at a reasonable cost. Where possible, examples drawn from personal experience will be used to illustrate the topics.
Presenter Bio: Roy J. Rosser, Ph.D. specializes in preparing and prosecuting patent applications in mechanical, opto-electrical and computer related inventions. He is a registered US Patent Practitioner, as well as being a scientist, entrepreneur, and inventor with over 90 issued US and foreign patents. These include patents on the technology that cover the technology now used to provide the virtual 1st Down Line on TV football broadcasts and were the basis of a successful startup company he founded. Dr. Rosser has worked with several law firms and is now a solo practitioner in his business r.r(princeton), while continuing to pursue his own inventions and a new startup.
