Starting a Small Business in New Jersey

A Free Workshop from SCORE

Description:  This workshop will focus on the questions most frequently asked by entrepreneurs when starting a small business. Some of the topics to be covered include:

  • factors that contribute to small business success
  • start-up options (creating a business, buying a business, franchise)
  • common business structures (Sole Proprietorship, LLC, and Corporation)
  • fundamentals of a business plan
  • basics of financial management for small business
  • potential sources of funds

This is an interactive workshop for attendees to obtain expert advice about their main start up questions. 


Presenter Bio: Sonali Shah is a certified SCORE mentor with 8+ years’ experience in the financial services industry.  She also has diverse work experience in the not-for-profit, pharmaceuticals and heavy engineering sectors, in the United States, United Kingdom, and India.  Her educational credentials include MS degrees in both Physics and International Management.
