This seminar discusses the pros, cons and how to’s of running a home-based business including work space and zoning requirements, employees, insurance, licensing, and what it will require from you and your family.
Seminar Leader: Janet Pickover
Janet R. Pickover (CMP Emeritus) ran JR Associates, a meeting management, consulting and training company, for over thirty years. As a recognized leader in her industry, Janet wrote articles and lectured on meeting management topics. Early in her career, NJ Monthly Magazine selected Janet as one of the outstanding 84 business people in the state.
Janet is also a former President of Meeting Professionals International - New Jersey Chapter and served as chair of the Past Presidents Council. Janet is the recipient of the MPI NJ Chapter’s 2006 Planner of the Year award and a former recipient of the Chapter Manager of the Year Award.
Currently, Janet serves as a SCORE counselor in the Princeton, NJ chapter. In the past, Janet has volunteered with Your Resource, a nonprofit that refurbishes home medical equipment and the Grand Pals Reading program.
Prior to starting her own business, Janet was an educator and holds an MA in Reading.
