Description:  Starting a home-based business has unique characteristics and challenges, yet it’s becoming a highly lucrative way to start a business in today's economy.  With low overhead, advantages of technology and minimal capital required, many people are opting to shift careers to become a home-based entrepreneur.  This seminar discusses the pros, cons and how to’s of running a home-based business including work space and zoning requirements, employees, insurance, licensing, and what it will require from you and your family.

Speaker Bio:  Gail Derby, MS, MBA has 25+ yrs experience in large/small organizations spanning service/manufacturing industries including hotels/resorts, transportation, pharmaceuticals, not-for-profit and management consulting.  She's held management roles in market analysis, strategic planning, sales, marketing and operations.  Currently, Gail oversees marketing for a non-profit and has a sales/marketing analytics consulting practice providing insight/solutions to clients from many industries.
