Building Community Resilience:

Learning to Serve our Built and Social Infrastructures

through Ecological Design

 THURSDAY EVENING,  AUGUST 13, 2015

On the shores of beautiful Lake Winnepesaukee

Doors open for registration at 6:10,

workshop starts promptly at 6:30.

Join New Hampshire's own Steve Whitman for this introductory session on building community resilience through ecological design. From the watershed scale down to site -level decision making,  Steve will share a framework that can be used to guide future land use changes locally. Informed by a holistic design process,  communities can then meet resident’s needs, support economic development, and protect and restore ecological functions.

We will learn to create communities that are more resilient to severe weather consequencees and other outside forces while retaining the distinct character of their neighborhoods.  Come see the examples that Steve will share from his work in the United States and internationally.

This workshop is for professionals, board or committee members and anyone with an intersest in learning a new way to think differently about planning for the future of the towns and neighborhodds we love here in the Granite State.

It will be a workshop that engages participants, informs and, we hope, inspires new ideas for all of us.

There is NO COST to attend this workshop, but we request, for planning purposes, you please register by August 12.
