Camp 22Q Texas Family Retreat 2022

22Q Texas, Inc. is hosting our 11th Annual Retreat for families affected by 22q11.2 chromosome disorders, including 22q11.2 deletion, distal deletion, duplication, triplication and any other clinical diagnosis related to 22q/Di George/VCFS.

Our retreat brings families and professionals together in a fun and nurturing environment to learn more about the disorders and treatments. Families support one another as we navigate life with these complicated genetic conditions. The weekend includes informative sessions plus opportunities to connect with and share information and experiences with others.

Kids participate in fun, challenging activities, building independence & confidence by doing things they felt were impossible. Siblings meet other siblings who "get" the unique challenges they deal with. Parents are empowered, educated and connected with a strong support system. Families bond together and leave with renewed strength and hope.

It is a fun-filled camp experience for all ages and abilities with activities like archery, basketball, climbing wall, games, rope courses, animal experiences, zip lines, a campfire and more! Lodging is camp-style with families staying in group cabins (twin bunk beds, running water, electricity, bathrooms, roomy showers, a bathtub, refrigerator, washer/dryer and central air). Your family will be sharing a cabin with other families living with 22q. All meals and activities are included in the registration fee.

While camp expenses are expected to exceed $43,000 this year, the registration fee for our local 22q Texas families is only $75/person (babies 23 months and YOUNGER are FREE). For those outside of the area served by 22Q Texas, Inc, you are more than welcome to attend, but we must ask that you pay $185 per person. Payment is not required to register, but you must commit to fundraise your fees in order to regisiter without payment. In recent years, camp attendance and expenses have far exceeded our expectations. We understand that budgets can be tight. We are committed to partner with you to help you fundraise and cover all fees so everyone can attend. Do not let the cost be a factor- reach out if you have questions or concerns. We will work with you to help you attend!

If you are fundraising to cover your registration fees, we strongly recommend you create your own personal fundraiser for 22Q Texas, Inc. on Facebook or GoFundMe (both linked here). Simply go to our Facebook Page and click on "Fundraisers", then click on "Raise Money," or go to our 22Q Texas, Inc./VCFS Texas, Inc. charity page on GoFundMe, and click "Fundraise For This Charity." Set the goal amount you need to raise, add your personal story & pictures then SHARE! Please email us at retreat@22qtexas.org once your fundraiser is set up, or if you need help getting it set up. We can track your donations and the money goes directly to 22Q Texas so you don't have to keep up with it! Also, if you fundraise more than your goal, that will go to help another family.
