Rise & Shine Breakfast Fundraiser:

Top of Your Game

Healthy Waltham invites you attend our first breakfast fundraiser on October 17. Come support the health and wellness of the Waltham community and stay "On Top of Your Game" with an (optional) yoga workout at 7:00AM and healthy breakfast at 7:30AM. Recognize healthy heroes in our community. Learn how our guest speaker, Barbara Stevens, the award-winning Bentley women's basketball coach, stays on top of her game.

Sponsorship Opportunites are available

You can help support the health and wellness of those who live, work, and go to school in Waltham. As a corporate sponsor, you will receive recognition in our program book and banner, and from the podium. Join other community leaders who support Healthy Waltham.

Nominate a Healthy Hero

Healthy Waltham will recognize an individual and a business who enhance the health and wellness of Waltham. You can submit a nomination by clicking on one of the links below.

Healthy Waltham believes that all people should have access to healthy foods and opportunities for physical activity, regardless of income or background or age. Your generous support will help Healthy Waltham provide programs such as these:

  • Fearless Foodie nutrition education program for all Waltham elementary school students
  • Waltham Walks to encourage all Waltham residents to be more active through walking
  • Watch City Market mobile food pantry to get healthy foods to 500+ families monthly
  • Waltham Connections for Healthy Aging to make Waltham an even better place for seniors
  • Volunteer opportunities that engage residents and enhance quality of life in Waltham

Keynote Speaker

It's a milestone reached by only six other college basketball coaches in history--Bentley University's Barbara Stevens won her 1000th game as the women's basketball coach earlier this year. Stevens, who has coached at Bentley for 32 years and led the team to the NCAA Division II national championships in 2014, became just the 5th coach in women's basketball and seventh coach overall to reach this amazing career accomplishment. Stevens was inducted into the Women's Basketball Hall of Fame in 2006. We are honored to have her as our keynote speaker at our inaugural breakfast fundraiser.

Healthy Heroes

Improving health and wellness of a community involves many different people in different ways. This work truly "takes a village" and we know there are many unsung Healthy Heroes who are working to improve health in Waltham. We also want to celebrate the Waltham companies that have found fun and creative ways to promote health and wellness at work with a Wellness at Work award. We encourage you to submit a nomination for either of these awards, Healthy Hero (an individual) or Wellness at Work (a company/organization) by September 14. The honorees will be announced at the Breakfast. Just click on the links below for the nomination forms. Thank you!

About Healthy Waltham

Formed in 2004, Healthy Waltham is a non-profit, 501c3 organization that promotes collaborative approaches to improving the health and wellness of underserved and low income populations in Waltham. Through our creative healthy eating and wellbeing programs, we provide hands-on learning opportunities for the most vulnerable Waltham residents, including families with young children, recent immigrants, and seniors. We partner with the City of Waltham, other non-profits, businesses, and civic groups to further health and wellness goals.

This fundraising breakfast is the first of what we expect to become an annual event to raise awareness of our mission and engage community members in supporting health and wellness.
