Infusing Palliative Medicine into Primary Care and Other Specialties: Meeting the Needs of Patients 

Join us on Thursday, October 16th at Wildwood in Geneva for a timely and informative CME program hosted by the Kane County Medical Society and sponsored by JourneyCare. Nationally recognized hospice and palliative care expert Martha L. Twaddle, MD will be our guest speaker. 

Desired Learning Objectives:

  • Characterize current models for palliative care and briefly review its history and context in healthcare. 
  • Describe the role that primary care plays in improving patient quality outcomes through palliative care knowledge and skills.
  • Discuss how meeting the needs of patients and their families using palliative care can: 
  • Improve well-being
  • Enhance symptom control
  • Reduce readmissions
  • Align expenditures with meaninful care while at the same time decreasing the burden and cost of unnecessary or unwanted interventions.
