Characterize current models for palliative care and briefly review its history and context in healthcare.
Describe the role that primary care plays in improving patient quality outcomes through palliative care knowledge and skills.
Discuss how meeting the needs of patients and their families using palliative care can:

Align expenditures with meaninful care while at the same time decreasing the burden and cost of unnecessary or unwanted interventions.
