In Berkeley, CA
There are two strands of music. The first is for entertainment only and
expresses the emotions of a people in a particular time in history. The
second is for the sole purpose of cultivating the Self. It is this second
strand, also known as marga, which is the basis of the Sound Sadhana
practices.
As far back as the Vedas, much emphasis has been placed on
correct pronunciation and recitation of the Vedic texts exemplifying a
system whereby sound and rhythm were used not only for the individual to
ascend to a different dimension of experience but for the world to
experience the same elevation.
This course is open to all levels of participants with an interest
in the cultivation of sound. For further details visit www.soundsadhana.com.
“Music … is a means to communicate with the divine spirit
and not merely to please the masses”.

STUDENT TESTIMONIAL
“Natasha took us gradually through a classic Indian Raag-step by step, through the “Sargam”, the 10-beat rhythm, the mode and eventually the words. You had to concentrate pretty hard to do the work but it was worth it, by Sunday it was beginning to cook and the singing felt great-moments of effortlessness showed what is possible if you persevere. Wonderful teacher! Thank you! She promised to return after the summer……to take us further….to be continued…..” - Anne Walsh, Dublin, Ireland.
