Thursday, May 23, 2019 9:30am-1:00pm
at Franklin Park Zoo
Launch showcase for Project Lead The Way students
to present their tiger rescue and unique shoes projects
PLTW’s Launch curriculum enables elementary school students to adopt a design-thinking mindset through compelling hand-on activities, projects, and problems that build upon each other and relate to the world around them. Two examples are: The unique shoes students design for travelers after learning about animal adaptations to different world environments. And second, the device students design and prototype to rescue a trapped zoo tiger after exploring simple machines and learning about forces and interactions.
At the showcase, students will present their animal and zoo inspired
projects to New England Zoo staff and STEM industry professionals
and receive real-world feedback.
