Middle school showcase for Project Lead The Way students to
present their adaptive toy designs for a child with cerebral palsy
In Project Lead The Way’s middle school Design & Modeling unit, students learn the engineering design process, critical measurement and mathematical modeling skills, computer-aided design software, and about cerebral palsy. The culminating project challenges students to design, test, and fabricate an adaptive toy for a child with cerebral palsy.
At the showcase students will present their projects to doctors and patients of the Cerebral Palsy and Spasticity Center at Boston Children’s Hospital as well as to engineers and other STEM professionals. This opportunity will provide students with an authentic audience and real-world feedback.
Last year’s Design Showcase was an immensely successful STEM community event, which we could not have put on without our judges. We hope you can join us in the success this year!
