Middle school showcase for Project Lead The Way
students to present kinetic art pull toys
In Project Lead The Way’s Automation and Robotics unit, students learn about the engineering design process and mechanical systems. During the course students design, build, wire, program, use motors and sensors, troubleshoot, and experience the responsibility of an engineer.
Student teams are challenged to invent and build a pull toy using what they learned about simple machines and gear designs. The toys for this showcase are developed with the additional design consideration of being commissioned as 21st century versions of vintage pull toys for an upcoming exhibit at the Peabody Essex Museum.
At the showcase, students will present their projects to PEM staff and STEM industry professionals and receive real-world feedback. If you would like to be at judge at this STEM community event please register today!
As part of the registration process we ask you to approve or decline Mass STEM Hub's Media Release form. Please click here to review this document before proceeding.
