Small Animal Abdominal Ultrasound Seminar / Workshop

This unique course includes ultrasound training as well as discussion of the business and marketing of veterinary ultrasonography.Training is designed to enable veterinarians to use their ultrasound machine to full capacity,enhance their diagnostic capabilities and generate revenues to off set and exceed costs of purchasing equipment.

Day 1

8.30-8.50 Welcome and Registration

  • 9.00-11.00amImage optimization and knobology.How to use ultrasound features and tools.
  • 11-11.15am Coffee
  • 11.15-1.00pm Basic Physics and Artifacts:How to use artifacts to your advantage.
  • 1.00-1.45 Lunch
  • 2.00pm-3.45pm:Full Abdominal Ultrasound scanning Protocol:A routine for smooth scanning.(workshop)Participants may use their personal ultrasound machines or avail of demo units.
  • 3.45-4.00pm Break
  • 4.00-6.00pm Basic abdominal ultrasound ,hands on:Liver,Gall bladder,Spleen,Kidneys,Urinary,bladder and prostate(workshop)
  • 6.00-6.15 pm:Q&A.

Day 2

8.30-8.45am Welcome and Registration

  • 9.00-11.00am:Emergency Ultrasonography:The 5 minute exam in the E.R patient using the four quadrant approach.(workshop)
  • 11.00-11.15 am Break
  • 11.15-1.00pm:Ultrasound guided fine needle aspirates and Tru Cut biopsies,Techniques and limitations.(workshop)
  • 1.00-1.45 Lunch
  • 2.00-3.45:Advanced abdominal ultrasound:gastrointestinal tract,Lymph nodes,Pancreas,Adrenal glands,Great vessels and Biliary Outflow Tract.(workshop)
  • 3.45-4.00  Coffee
  • 4.00-6.00pm The business of veterinary ultrasound: How much to charge?  What to charge for?

6.00-6.15pm :Q&A

Instructor:Dr Paul A Brazzell,DVM

Dr Brazzell has over 20 years experience in veterinary practise and abdominal/cardiac ultrasound He has incorporated ultrasound into general,referral,emergency and mobile ultrasonography practises and can offer a unique perspective on the business and marketing of veterinary ultrasound.He currently provides in-hospital and seminar based abdominal and cardiac ultrasound education to veterinarians in Canada and the United States.
