Child Development Associate (CDA)

Blended Credential Course

Course Description:

This CDA course is customized to meet the needs of early education and care educators, building upon participant’s strengths and providing support to overcome challenges. The key to the success of this course is its focus and structure, combined with supportive training and mentor support.

This blended course is designed to cover required CDA course content in a meaningful and interactive manner and aligning with adult learning principles. Throughout the course, participants will build upon current experience and knowledge. As participants journey through this course, they will be applying what they are learning directly to their work with children and families. This will in turn incrementally increase the quality of care in their programs.

Overview of the CDA Credential:

The CDA is a nationally recognized credentialing program which requires CDA candidates to earn 120 clock hours in formal child care education, completion of a professional development resource file, observation and evaluation conducted by credentialed advisors, and successful completion of a final exam. With the award of a CDA credential, educators gain recognition as early childhood education professionals.

Blended Course Format:  120 hours of training

  • 60 hours of in class work
